Journey to the East

I finally visited UNIQLO today to find out what's making everyone flock there. First of all, I must say it was really very crowded by weekday afternoon standards. Don't these people have to work? And it's freaking Monday 3pm, how dare they?

So I guessed there must be some really good stuff in there to draw the crowd. Unfortunately, it was all street fashion, plebian fashion, bad fashion and I wasn't impressed. There was this conversation between two girls that I overheard and one of them said, "There's nothing nice here. But you feel like you just have to buy something since you're already here." Agreed, except I wasn't going to waste time in that long fitting room queue.

The rest of Tampines 1 is just blah. Although I did come across a few interesting restaurants that I haven't seen elsewhere, put everything in and you get a garden variety heartland mall that is almost identical to the other two neighbouring ones. It boggles the mind when one wonders why all the new malls these days came into existence.
