Earth Hour

Last night, I was at the MacD when the lights and music went out at 8.30pm. My reaction was: cool, on a few counts. First of all, since MacD plays anything but nice songs, it's nice to turn off the white noise for a change. Second of all, this being a 24-hour outlet with the lamps lit all day, when's the last time someone actually touched the switches? And the coolest of all, everyone in the restaurant seemed to know what was going on and didn't think this was some power failure of sorts. Has the Earth Hour ever been this widely publicised?
