This Chinese New Year has been a somewhat surreal break from reality. I'm not doing any work. I mahjong and eat like there's no tomorrow. All through the day I would have this nagging feeling at the back of my head that there is a mountain of work foo waiting to be cleared, but I would quickly shove it aside because I just wanted to be eating and out playing. The rest of the world are very cooperative too - for the first time since the start of the new school term, no work-related email/SMS received at all for the entire day! And who cares that the economy's probably headed for deeper recession after the festival or whether the jobs will still be there, because it's Chinese New Year, we're all in the spirit and all other things can wait.

About Me

byponders is no longer in his early twenties, but still spends too much time pondering the imponderables and enjoys an occasional dose of arty goodness. He looks forward to having his own library, Bloomberg machine and walk-in Heineken fridge one day.
