Such historical moment definitely warrants a revival of my blog. Yes, I'm talking about the medal that finally ended the nation's Olympics frustration for the past so many years. Honestly speaking, I had thought that Singapore's best bet for a medal in the women's table tennis team event was a Bronze. There was also this confused reluctance in me to watch the match live on TV because I didn't want to be put through the entire agonising process only to end up in disappointment, just like the last two games. In the end, the IT lesson relieved me of having to make a decision and I spent those four nail-biting hours in the seminar room wondering if history will be made. After the lesson, national pride had me rushing to the Free Access Lab to check the live scores like a trader anxious to know the stock prices. Everytime the page refreshed, my heart missed a beat. When it was down to 9-9 in the last game, damnit the system started to lag and I almost wanted to smash the computer. In all surreality, the next thing that showed up on the screen: 9-11. It was over. Singapore had won her first medal in 48 years.

Let there be a public holiday to celebrate Team Singapore's victory!
