Parting with the holidays is never easy. It's when one gets slapped hard in the face by reality, shell-shocked at the prospect of rising at 6am the next day, and would give anything for a few more days of not having to go to school. I guess even for an undergraduate, it's still pretty much the same thing, only perhaps a little more painless since there isn't a need to rush holiday assignments at the eleventh hour or face the feather duster-armed teacher tomorrow.

Then again, I'm not sure I actually had a holiday. The past one month was spent working, and the thing about working life is that it reminds you of the merits of being a student. So returning to school is fine by me. My only gripe is that I haven't had a proper rest yet. I wish I had gone on a holiday trip. I wish I had been reading. I wish I could just let the whole day roll ahead of me without feeling guilty about not doing a stitch of work the entire day. I wish I could start the semester in a better groove.

So I'm not feeling at all excited about going back to school tomorrow. It's like how Harry and friends became more jaded each time they returned to Hogwarts, just less fun, and I can't portkey my way there and skip the interminable 179 queue altogether.
