I can't do sports commentaries for nuts but I must say Quah Ting Wen swam sensationally in the 400m Individual Medley event last night. I was watching it live on the bus together with the other passengers and I swear nobody ever took TV Mobile so seriously before. The moment she touched home to clinch that gold medal for Singapore, some cheered while the rest were silently euphoric. And I almost forgot to alight. Sports is one of those things that can really weave a spell over the nation and bring everyone together once in a while. So congratulations to the 15-year-old who has all the potential to become the next Jocelyn and join Sun Yanzi and Corrinne May in the list of inspiring Raffles girls.
