Sorry but this is an incoherent ORD-related post again. (I ought to have done a proper mega entry on ORD. Damn it.)

So, I regained my status as civilian officially on Monday. (ORD has also conferred upon me an additional status as a NSmen but that's so not important which explains why this comes in a parenthesis) These days I have been proudly carrying my pink identity card with me everywhere I go while the green one has been banished to one forgettable corner of the house, hopefully never to see the light of the day again. On my way to the driving centre for the past three days, I saw uniformed soldiers from CMPB out for lunch; I saw army rovers and tonners crawling at their speed limit of 40km/h on the road; I saw SAR21-armed POI guards prowling MRT stations; all these through the lenses of a civilian. It's a "us-and-them" kind of situation now. Which is so unreal because just a few days ago I was still part of "them" and that has been the case for the past 22 months. It just feels totally weird. I think it has to do with the fact that my ORD took place in such a mess without a proper farewell whatsoever. Let's hope the ORD treat (something like STJ) next week will help assuage that feeling... It's strange how ORD did not turn out to be such a joyous occasion as it ought to. Or is it just me?

About Me
