In between the nightly struggles against insomnia and infinitely annoying mosquitoes in the bunk, the persisting feeling of disorientation being in a place I have been away from for more than 5 weeks, added regimentation in the company and the acute lack of good entertainment in camp now that even the table tennis table is gone, my soldiering days of late have been the most unkind. Until someone reminded me matter-of-factly during guard duty yesterday,

"You are going to ORD soon anyway."

For the first time ever since enlistment day, I am labelled as someone who is going to ORD SOON! :) And that really means a lot. I can now realistically forecast my off/leave-clearing schedule, and sprinkle Os and Ls on the Aug, Sep, Oct and Nov calendar. I can now boast about how few working days I am left with before clearing and tell people "my days are numbered". I now have the power to choose my desired detail during guard duties, and when the privates and lance corporals complain, give them the I-am-lao-jiao look and ask, "eh, when you ORD?" I can even afford to do less work, pushing them all to the newbies, and justify it as letting them learn the ropes. We won't be around to help you all when we ORD you know that kind of excuse.

-evil grin-

I am shameless I am cheap. Go ahead and sue me. Haha.
